The Miss Earth 2011 Evening Gown competition took place during the last week with 78 candidates (a few had not arrived yet). It happened in a hotel ballroom and was covered by a handful of Filipino pageant-aficionado blogs and local press.

It’s worth mentioning that from an initial count of 93, eight of them were not able to arrive to the contest. They were Uruguay, Mongolia, Lesotho, Bhutan, Zambia, Costa Rica, Moldova, and Albania. The official number for this year is 85.

The Final Result of Miss Guatemala 2012

Laura Godoy, from Guatemala City, was crowned Miss Guatemala 2012. She is 23, 1.74 m-tall and will represent her country in Miss Universe 2012.

Monique Aparicio, 20, from Quetzaltenango, won the title Miss World Guatemala 2012, and will compete in Miss World 2012, in Ordos, in July.
